For a few weeks each winter, the tides pull back just far enough and the sand shifts just enough to reveal a narrow passage between two massive sandstone formations at Windansea Beach. What you're looking at isn't always there, some seasons, these rocks are buried entirely beneath sand and surf. This image was captured on a February evening, golden hour light pouring sideways through the gap, turning the honeycomb rock face amber and moss-green against a glowing Pacific horizon.
